There has been a death in my class.

Usually, during holidays, and especially after exams, normal folks do not go to college for academic reasons;the library is especially off-limits. I went to both today, but not for academic reasons. It just felt weird.

That was how I started my day. Friend came to pick me up and we went to college and into the library(where else?).

The news was broken to us by the same friend and later, Ms V handed us the obituary. It was shocking. One of my classmates is dead, a part-time student, a man in his late fifties. Succumbed to head injuries from a car crash. I think the one thing that got all of my classmates was this: our last paper was on Friday, and this guy, already a grandfather, was supposed to fly to Bangladesh as a bank director to handle some stuff, so the car crash presumably took place on Saturday. Straight one day after the exams. That is how fragile and fickle life is.

The three of us got stranded at a kopitiam as it was raining, the obituary in front of us. We couldn't decided whether to attend the funeral which was going to take place the day itself. The rain did nothing but to add to our sombre moods, deep in the shade of blue. The friend who was driving was extra paranoid about road safety. In the end we did not choose to go, as we all agreed that funerals should be left as private affairs.

With the verdict reached, Ms V's words haunted me a little: 'the other part-timers must feel *horrible*; he helped them with their VLE and their assignments, and also the syllabus throughout the academic year. they must feel *horrible*,'

Life and death are cliche-category themes, and for good reasons: they cannot be ignored easily. There is really nothing more I can add to the general idea, knowledge and emotions attached to the two topics. I can only suggest and remind my readers to appreciate life and to live it. Do what we have to do, and do what we like to do - we do what we have to do so that we can do what we want to do. Wasted is a man, if during his entire life, he has had not done anything he ought to or liked.
