today has not been the best of days.

read on weibo that in a certain district in China, they have this 'Dog Meat Festival'. what do they do? feast on dog meat, of course.

as if on cue, several tweets below, a citizen there was caught on video dumping his four-legged friend from a car window before speeding away, the animal yelping and running to catch up in futile.

it returned to roadside, and lied down. every time a car stops, it stood up expectantly. people from a dog shelter home later collected the stray and named it liu liu, Mandarin for the one left behind.

back at home, things are not much different. at least, to me.
