Update

The afternoon was steaming hot. So hot, that perspiration was easy even in the air-conditioned room.

Then evening came. The saviour from this tropical heat. The mood appeaser for man and dog.

Looking up from the computer and books, it was a golden light shrouding the scene. Everything was basked in its fold.

Nature at one with man. Man in harmony with himself, even if it was but a truce.

The green field was deserted, and under those glorious rays of beam light they were paddy fields, a playful wind about herself.

As beautiful and perfect an evening is, it is transient, a passing mention in a day.

The rain came and temperatures dropped. A chilly breeze began. The scene changed, from one of carefree daydreaming, to a slightly gloomy disposition.

Dog was snoring as peacefully by the door, the cool spirits further hypnotizing him.

A snoozing pet, the rain on the roofs, the swaying breeze out in the field and into the home, and music in the background: it was easy to pretend to not live in the world for a minute.

Is there more peace than this?

Then evening was no more, and the familiar darkness crept in.
