It's Labour's Day.
A one day-camp is to be held today at the church. Last check at the number of participants: 77.
I knew that we are going to labour like bees and get out butts kicked. Maybe even heads climbed over T_T
I came back from Penang on Thursday, bringing a friend along. We rested a little for tomorrow. We sang a few songs that night at my place to prepare our hearts to serve our Lord, and chatted a little.
Upon arriving at the church, kids were already swarming the place like nobody's business. The energy flowing from them is both wonderful and frightening. Oh, and the noise...
Hi. Thanks for coming. Please spare us. T_T
Brother Qi Jun entertaining the kids while waiting for others to arrive. This was before he taught them the 'Chicken Dance'.
Brother Ee Shiuen and Qi Jun performing during the songleading session.
The songleading session was a blast. We sang songs and danced like kids. The kids really enjoyed a lot. Their laughters made us forget our troubles and the entire congregation was involved in worshipping God. My throat was sore after singing, but it was really fun watching the kids smile and moving their bodies in tune with the songs!
After that, we had a speaker talking to the children on fulfilling children's filial duty to parents in accordance to the Bible's teachings.
The kids were taught to make these. Don't bother mentioning about this part as I dislike this art personally from a very young age. Especially the UHU glue.
Children are carefree and light as they perceived themselves that way ^^
After lunch and a short break, the real dish of the day is here-- Games! We prepared 10 stations for 8 groups, each unique in their own ways.
Fishing in the baptism pool. (O.o?) We attached metal piece to each fish and the children are to fish them up using magnets at the end of the rod. The bigger the fish the more points, with more difficulty.
This is the 'PingPong ball crossing the bridge'. Looking at the picture is enough to tell you how this game is played out.
A board game where you throw a hardboard and see where it lands. The reward varies with each landing point. Here, you can choose to get yourself an ice-cream or score points for your team! *smack lips*
Another game worth mentioning would be the 'roti' station. Actually, it is not about the bread (they used the same bread for everyone >.<'''). Lol. The bread was dropped from a certain height and 2 person is required to 'bang' into each other to trap the loaf.
Next station: Kinato!
Just listen to teacher as he craps. -______-
This is like a jigsaw puzzle. They were required to put together the pieces into the replica shown above.
I give up ~.~
Hmm ?
Hehe...
Kinda cute eh? :)
Everyone had a great time!
All of a sudden, perhaps because of the heat, everybody went crazy and the solemn church turned into something like a washing machine. ><'''
Payback time!
After all the ordeal, we had tea and the winners were announced. We were left with the mess to deal with, and upon finishing everything we were practically drained...
This is worse than games and games of basketball, B.
