Hari Koko 2008

Today is the Hari Kokurikulum of my school. To make it easier we just refer it as Hari Koko.

As with tradition, various stalls were opened. Ranging from ice-cold delicacies to kuih-muih, all the stalls filled up the entire parking lot. To get one of these, you will have to change cash for coupons.

Well of course, the stalls are not the sole feature of the day. Our school has also provided plenty of other programs for students. Most of them can really generate loud laughs! I took pleasure in being there to watch it.

As with every year, futsal is one of the highly-anticipated event of Hari Koko. This is like a mini soccer game. However, the ground was rather wet due to last night's heavy downpour, and the game was slightly sluggish. Unfortunately for me and my team, we failed to make it to the finals this year, which I did during the past 3 years. Although having two of the school's best players on the team, we were beaten by the other star-filled team, which features many school players. It was kinda sad, but then, I haven't kick a ball for almost half a year now, so it's ok for me =.=

Now, the English Language Society also had a English singing competition. It was held last year, and this year has the most number of participants, including my brother. He decided to take part after seeing some of his friends entering. The crowds were many, the stage was set, and he went up to sing Ronan Keating's famous hits, 'When You Say Nothing At All'.

And after the performance, many other participants performed as well. Well, you know, ok ok la.

When the time comes for the results to be disclosed, the atmosphere was tense. Most of them hung their heads, waiting with bated breath. And lo and behold, Lucas emerged the champion! He was so happy, busy accepting many 'congrats' and 'well done's from his friends. Way to go bro!

Thus, ended this Hari Koko with many laughters and disappointments as well. I must congratulate the school for organizing such an event with apparent success. However, there is still much room for improvement. Go go SMKSN!!
