Strong bitterness

Why is it that strong people are doomed to abject miserable destinies? It is that very strength, that tough fiber of their character, that is to be blamed, for the many difficulties of life are inclined to make playmates out of that strength. It is not for the strong to complain of life's bitterness, nor it is in their nature to do so, for their choice is strength. The natural consequence of making such a choice is therefore bitterness.
