I hate you

Feelings are such petulant objects aren't they? Sentiments and whatnot. Especially when they mature during some time where your friend is concerned.

It is not a good thing. Sometimes it is wrong; as in, really really wrong. The pain and burden are loaded with tears, and the heart is cumbered with care.

How do you get rid of it? Can it just be whisked away? Can time efface? Will the heart be willing to let go, though the memories and words are burned into the brain?

The number of couples we see on the streets, walking in malls, is justified: people just don't know how precious feelings are, or they just ignored it. Our feelings grow with us, but they may mature wrongly in the wrong way and in the wrong time, until they take us somewhere we may not be ready to go.

More material things matter; not genuine feelings. They are not important: other factors ranked higher in the hierarchy, or should I say, the food chain? You never saw your friend being hoodwinked by this rich guy before? You never heard before that your best childhood friend has been dumped real hard by his girlfriend whom he thought is attached to him for ever? You never know these things? Or are you one of them? How's the game?

Feelings are not important. Ok, they matter for only a short period of time, but they can be like advertisements, only showing the pretty side of the shit. They can be shown to this pretty girl or handsome guy, in a casual yet sophisticated way, and they're on the hook. It ain't hard, see? Just numb those feelings and the body gets along real fine. Like buddies.

Oh and, when you finally want to settle down, you might consider taking up some religion. Any religion. A church sounds just nice. You see, them Christians preach about forgiveness hmm? And that's what we all need. Playboys are not exempted.

P/S: Title not to be taken literally.

(on borrowed internet right now hence the MSN absence :)

this is a heart-felt piece that I gather has been waiting to burst out of your thoughts for a little while, hey? i like its honesty.

it's a mad world, yes, but the sword of a cynic is double edged one indeed. it's easy to see only the darker side of it when everything and everyone around you seems to reek sheer frustration.

the nature of love in any relationship (be it romantic/purely platonic) is difficult to discern. i dare venture to say it's purely subjective, but so, isn't everything else when put into perspective? hmm.

don't overdose on pessimism. ;)

KV: I disagree. There *are* things that really matter. I should think that after living so many years, you should have found one that does.

Lucas: apa? -__-

Khiahsu: Oh yes. Haha. Better in than out. That's altogether a complex issue. =)
